Macro Targets is designed to keep calculator preferences lightweight and local. This page explains what information is processed when you use the site, what may be stored on your device, and how third parties such as analytics and affiliate providers may be involved.

Information you enter into the calculator

When you submit the initial calculator, inputs such as age, weight, height, sex, goal type, and wearable energy values are sent to the Macro Targets web server so PHP can generate the result. Those values are not intentionally written to a user profile or calculator database.

For convenience, the site may save calculator preferences and a starting plan in your own browser using local storage so the form can repopulate on later visits from the same device.

Adaptive check-in data

Weigh-ins, average logged intake, and adaptive check-in results are parsed and calculated in your browser. They are not submitted through a form. If you save a check-in, it remains in local storage on that device until you clear it. JSON export files are created locally and are controlled by you.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand high-level site usage, such as which pages are visited, which devices are used, and whether anonymous workflow events occurred. Event names may include calculation_completed, calibration_started, and checkin_completed. Weight, age, sex, calorie, goal, macro, and weigh-in values are not included in those analytics events. We have enabled IP anonymization in our analytics configuration.

Affiliate links

Some product links on the site are affiliate links. If you click one of those links, the destination platform may use its own cookies or similar technologies to attribute the referral and, where applicable, track a purchase.

What is stored on your device

Calculator preferences and a starting plan may be saved in local storage so the form remembers them on that browser.
Adaptive check-in inputs may be saved in local storage so you can return to the calibration workflow.
An internal traffic cookie may be set for analytics exclusion on specific browsers used by the site owner or team.
Third-party services may set their own cookies when you interact with them.

Your choices

You can clear locally saved calculator preferences using the clear-saved-data button. You can separately clear the local plan and check-in data from the adaptive check-in. Clearing site storage in your browser removes both. You can also control cookies through your browser settings and use Google's analytics opt-out tools if you choose.

Data security

No website can guarantee absolute security. Keep that in mind before entering sensitive health or medical information anywhere online. Macro Targets is meant for general planning, so avoid entering information you would consider highly confidential.
